Thread
Thread is what holds the good together allowing it to stand up to the rigours of use, and can either be front and center if selecting a high contrast thread or fade into the background with a low contrast colour that is similar to the leather being used. This provides a number of different design options. Our preference for design is to select a low-contrast thread that allows the leather to shine.
Traditionally, the thread used in many fine leather goods is a cable style thread made from linen. In our products, we have maintained the traditional cable style, but for many reasons prefer a polyester thread over linen. We are more than happy to use linen thread on request.
Vinymo Thread
VINYMO MBT thread is a 100% polyester thread with a texture like silk produced in Japan. It has a special bonded technology that keeps the twisted threads from easily unwinding and splaying out, with excellent strength.
Polyester thread is preferred for sewing projects requiring strength and durability. It is strong, has excellent sunlight (UV) resistance and will keep your projects together for a very long time. The thread colors are vibrant, have a beautiful luxury feel, they are evenly dyed and have a subtle sheen that set them apart. The thread will add a nice luxury look and finish to your projects
The gallery below contains the the colours that are maintained in stock continuously. There are a total of 92 colours of this thread available in four different thread sizes. We currently maintain the 9 colours shown below in two different thicknesses, and any other colours or sizes must be special ordered and incur an additional surcharge.

Fil au Chinois - linen thread
FIL AU CHINOIS Lin Cable is the original luxury linen thread, being produced in France for 150+ years. Fil au Chinois’s Lin Cable Thread is still used by many of the top French luxury brands. Linen thread has a softer, more natural look than polyester or nylon thread that pairs well with handmade goods. While a traditional thread, it doesn’t have the same durability and strength as a polyester or nylon thread.
There are 44 colours available in this thread with five different thread sizes, and these are not stocked regularly. To use this thread, it must be special ordered and will incur an additional surcharge. Please CONTACT US to discuss these options.
