Leather – LINK

Where possible, we have prioritized using vegetable tanned leather that is fully dyed through, allowing the leather’s natural beauty to shine through. The leather we use predominantly comes from the same European and Japanese tanneries used in many luxury brands. These tanneries produce some of the highest quality leather in the world, under the most sustainable practices protecting the environment. 

Our products are majority crafted in bovine (cow and calf) and goat leathers, but we may use sheepskin, or other more exotic leathers on certain products if they can be sourced into Canada.

Fabric – LINK

For fabric selection, we prefer to use natural fibres to complement the leather. This includes silk twill, waxed canvas, Harris Tweed wool and linen.

Thread – LINK

We prefer a Japanese bonded and braided polyester thread that increases strength and longevity compared to the more traditional linen threads. That said, we are happy to use linen thread upon request.

Edge Paint – LINK

We have selected Uniters Pro as our edge paint of choice, a premium Italian edge paint.

Hardware 

All hardware is either solid brass or stainless steel, again for longevity and durability. On the individual product pages, you will see the hardware that has been selected and any available options for that hardware. If you have specific hardware that you would like utilized into a piece, we are happy to accommodate – just CONTACT US to begin the conversation. 

Zippers

YKK Excella zipper line is their top end for zippers. The Excella zippers are made in Japan of solid brass, with the highest tolerances and go through YKK’s six sigma quality inspection process to ensure the smoothest operation.

What makes the Excella line unique compared to other zippers is that the Excella zipper teeth are individually polished, creating the smoothest functioning zipper possible. You can feel the quality difference when you use them.

These are easily available in 28 different colours of tape and brass or silver metal chains and pulls. They are available in a single or double chain and two different widths of teeth. The double chain is also a thicker tooth that also allows for a second pull.
